What Reddit says about Tribe jiu jitsu Roma Centro

4 verbatim community mentions from r/bjj and city subreddits, unedited, positives and negatives alike.

in rome i suggest Anacoreta for Gi and Nemeos bjj for no gi, in florence i will go for Matside firenze or Tribe jiujitsu, all really good guy, very friendly and very competent instructor source, 2024 ↗

positive

Gyms in Italy are rather random, lots of them are super hard to track down and best you can dig out a random WhatsApp number to some owner who doesn’t speak much English lol. It’s beautiful. Anacoreta has a nice gym outside of Rome. Likewise Tribe Jiujitsu has gyms all over the country. I believe they have one in Firenze; Carlson Gracie as well if I remember correctly. Likewise, there is a Tribe Jiu Jitsu Venezia but it’s pretty far away from the city, probably a 40min drive at least. source, 2024 ↗

I'm from Rome but started JJ after moving abroad. I'm planning to drop in to some gyms next time I'm back, in order of perceived quality/recommendations: -Anacoreta Jiu Jitsu (if it's not too far from where you're staying) -Roger Gracie Academy -Tribe Jiu Jitsu Roma Centro -Gracie Barra. There might be a few more I'm not aware of or too difficult to get to. source, 2023 ↗

In Rome go to Aeterna Jiu Jitsu, they are the largest and arguably best team there. If you can bother going to their main academy (it's very far from the centre and not well served by public transportation so it's a pain in the ass) you can find Luca Anacoreta there (he's the most accomplished Italian BB, currently invited to the next Polaris), but their other academies are also good. If you need to stay near the centre there are other, more convenient academies (Tribe and Cyclone). They are still good, with more than legit black belts, even though I am biased towards Aeterna since I used to source, 2015 ↗
