What Reddit says about Six Blades Jiu-Jitsu Pacific Beach

8 verbatim community mentions from r/bjj and city subreddits, unedited, positives and negatives alike.

You honestly can't go wrong with any of them. San Diego is deep with talent and most of the gyms are really cool with cross training at open mats.  If you are looking for a really friendly and welcoming places, based on how they treated me as a stranger. I rank Alfredo at Barum BJJ #1. Paige from Legion #2. Didn't catch their names but #3 are the folks at Villanueva / Six Blades in La Mesa. I've never had a bad experience anywhere... Except maybe a douchy guy at Jocko's gym once, but if your looking for rolls against super strong tough dudes, there's no cheaper place to get your ass kicked source, 2025 ↗

yeah i know it's not the same. marcelo not being there alone is enough for that. im not looking for the absolute best bjj bc i believe that'd probably be austin tx. i just feel nyc is in contention for best city in the world, whereas austin has no claim whatsoever. san diego at least has amazing weather and beaches source, 2025 ↗

No final do ano retrasado tive depressao aqui no Canadá.

I live in San Diego. Best:beaches everywhere and it’s like best place in the United States for jiu jitsu. Worst: probably how expensive it is, homelessness source, 2024 ↗

>In 2010, when AG Gregoroff was hiking in his hometown of San Diego, the thong on one of his flip-flops tore. Still far from camp, he was forced to lace paracord through the top, weaving it between his toes, but the rough material left his toes cut up and bloody. An idea was sparked, and he started to look for an indestructible pair of flip-flops to wear hiking, Hunting, to the beach, and off the Jiu-Jitsu mats. By far one of the stupidest paragraphs I think I've ever read. source, 2024 ↗

I’ve heard a lot great things about surf fight but man, Del Mar is quite a drive! It might be a good spot to drop in on the weekends before going to the beach or something though. Thanks for the suggestion! source, 2022 ↗
