I practice Choy Lee Fut, Muay Thai, Boxing and BJJ. I am teaching CLF in Sydney, Australia. IMO, form is a way to condition your body, guide you develop the power in CLF way. In our form, we also introduce idea for street fight, especially one to two or more. We start from big and long movement at the beginner level. Form is also a way to make others identify your style and lineage. It is also good to self practice without too many equipments and partner. For practical, drills, pads works are essential to develop the angle, timing and accuracy. It’s hard to explain in text. Hop source, 2025 ↗

Sydney West Martial Arts, Grappling Education and Sydney Wrestling Academy are some of the higher level gyms in Sydney. Ive heard of some of the other ones mentioned below, movement martial arts, garage jiu jitsu, Mybjj, and Legacy. That pretty much covers the main competing gyms, there are other good guys who compete from other spots but they are usually outliers in their gym. source, 2023 ↗
