I'm personally not a fan of carrying a weapon I've not done extensive training on, and I just don't have the time to train with a gun. I also worry about any weapon I carry (gun, knife, etc), being used against me. Having trained short and long stick/staff, I also know that I can pick up just about anything to use as a makeshift weapon (baseball bat, branch, broomstick, butter knife, whatever). source, 2025 ↗

I really like how you include time for "Lab Work". This is where upper belts really make the most significant progress and it's a shame I've only seen it at 1 or 2 gyms. source, 2023 ↗

Nope I’m not from the area. Can’t hurt to check it out and see. Maybe you fit in better there. You don’t know til you try. For me personally and where my game is is choose Faria for others the choice may be different. There are tons of great academies all over the place. source, 2019 ↗

Then they found a way around the rules for James Thompson. I'd personally like it if we got Joe to come back. source, 2013 ↗
