I did just that with a G19 for my EDC. TLR7A, Trijicon RMR T2 3.25MOA. I work nights & sometimes leave work after midnight in a highly gang/drug/transient infested area of Los Angeles. Offsite parking. Shitty street lighting in the area. There were trade offs I had to make, though. I’m only 5’9ish. I went from 198 at my heaviest to currently 163. Waist went from a 36ish to now about a 30ish. My current jeans size is 32, but I can fit a fist between my waist & the actual waistband of the pants. Like, it’s starting to fall off my waist. Just haven’t bought new pants 😂 Combination of ea source, 2023 ↗

For context this is the exact wording of the profile “I like exploring Los Angeles, jiu jitsu, cycling, golfing, breweries, the beach, traveling, and basically anything that gets me out of the house. Be able to take a roasting and don’t take life too seriously 😬 6’0 “ source, 2023 ↗

Yea, thanks, I read his “explanation “ since clearly everyone was like wtf. Seems like dumbass just didn’t have a gi or a belt so they let him use a loaner and didn’t have a brown belt, just grab whatever belt off the rack. Of course he has to lie on JRE and then back down later lol > On the most recent Fight Companion podcast, I mentioned that I wore a white belt at the Gracie Academy for a few weeks when I first arrived, even though I was already a brown belt in BJJ. My miscommunication on the issue caused some people, including Joe Rogan and Bryan Callen, to think I was demoted by my in source, 2023 ↗

With all respect, you're wrong. One must look at who sparred with Bruce and their side. Dan Inosanto: Played halfback at Whitworth College and holds the single season rushing record at 155lbs- who plays college halfback at 155lbs and sets records? A very tough guy! Dan was 101st Airborne Rangers out of Fort Campbell, KY. Yes, Army Rangers are known weenies!😀 Dan is certified to teach JKD, BJJ, Muay Thai and Silat to name a few. He said sparring with Bruce was like Dan was a 10 year old- I've moved with Dan and he's amazing and hits hard. Larry Hartsell: US Army Military Police in Vietnam. Blac source, 2023 ↗

Leverage your time with a skill or hobby that you love to do and find a way to monetize it. I believe in making more and working less… but one must still work ;) 😉 I own a company that teaches private one on one self defense training around all the high end areas of Los Angeles. We charge $300/hr-$700hr, I personally work 3-4 hrs a day Mon-Fri and have 3 of my instructors(whom used to be my students) go out and train 4-6 hrs a day Monday- Sunday. I made the DECISION that I didn’t want to work for someone else and we truly LOVE what we do. It never feels like “work” and our clientele is consi source, 2022 ↗

I mean the states with larger populations have a larger pool to pull for and also have had a more competitive Jiu Jitsu scene for a longer length of time. SoCal probably has more tournaments in a month then somewhere like New Mexico has in a full year for example. More competitions, more competitors and more experience. That isn’t to say the smaller states don’t have their gems but from a numbers point of view you’re going to have more from larger populations. Add in length of time and it gets more obvious. Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, San Francisco had a head start. Places like Austin, S source, 2022 ↗

You're very welcome I hope you figure things out. Yes it sucks when you don't have any support from management. However, most hospitals/doctors don't put up with sh*t like that. They will straight up fire clients on the spot. However, some hospitals love sucking up to clients and let sh*t like that slide. That's when you take matters into your own hands. If they're not willing to step in and help protect your well being then you do what you gotta do. As far as self defense I would recommend Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Not only will your learn self defense but you'll get in shape and blow source, 2022 ↗

I train at a well known academy in Los Angeles (I only mention that to give context), that has produced multiple world champions, UFC Champions, etc. We have many gay & lesbian students & I can honestly say I’ve never seen or heard a single derogatory statement or people refraining from rolling, etc. They are all well liked, well respected, normal students like the rest of us. We’ve all gotten together on numerous occasions outside class for food / drinks, to watch UFC, etc & their S/O’s always joined & it was a complete non-issue. It’s a major city, so I’m sure it may not be l source, 2022 ↗
