I'm in Los Angeles, though I did a lot of training up in San Francisco/Bay Area "back in the day". I'm almost exclusively Yang now, but I still mess around with the Shaolin and wushu I know. Did a little BJJ and sanda, but I was never into sparring much. I really like taolu/forms, and it's only recently that I've started exploring application. I always thought bagua was cool. Never studied it, but sometimes I'll pretend like I know to do the stepping, lol. If I'm ever around San Antonio, I'd love to drop by and say hi. source, 2024 ↗

Los unicos que conozco que son completos de mma son MMA Gym en Hato Rey, Behrin BJJ en San Francisco que es completo mma pero con un enfoque mayor en el jiujitsu, y Caribbean Top Team en Mayagüez Tambien hay entrenadores personales muy buenos de mma pero obviamente eso es mucho mas caro source, 2023 ↗

Muay Thai: 1-Dynamite Academy Esta en San Francisco, tienes buenos horarios y precios, yo estoy ahi, me gusta que de verdad es Muay Thai y hay sparring los viernes 2-Kame House: Queda como en Chanis, nunca he ido pero se ve bien, algunos de ahi vienen a hacer sparring a Dynamite 3- no sé el nombre, pero hay un centro de deportes en Costa del Este que tiene Muay Thai Hay otras de Muay Thai, pero no se ven tan buenas, o tienen horarios raros o precios caros, o el enfoque no es Muay Thai En Dynamite también hay Jiu Jitsu, antes estaban aliados con 3.14, pero se separaron y ahora tienen source, 2022 ↗

I mean the states with larger populations have a larger pool to pull for and also have had a more competitive Jiu Jitsu scene for a longer length of time. SoCal probably has more tournaments in a month then somewhere like New Mexico has in a full year for example. More competitions, more competitors and more experience. That isn’t to say the smaller states don’t have their gems but from a numbers point of view you’re going to have more from larger populations. Add in length of time and it gets more obvious.
