I have family in Auckland, where I met John Danaher in 1998. He was staying with my Cousin's family who would help set up BJJ schools for the Gracies. While I do not hate John in any way. Adesanya is actually from Nigeria, but was raised most of his life in New Zealand, not American at all, but he is on of the hugest weebs in the UFC. He constantly makes anime references before his fights and even Naruto ran across Auckland when he won the middleweight belt. He is the absolute GOAT, but other UFC fighters watch Anime like him, but aren't as huge fans as Izzy like Wonderboy who's a big fan of Naruto and Dragon ball or Sakuraba who started wrestling because he watched Tiger Mask as a kid and later became the "Gracie Killer", Which he got from defeating members of the Gracie Fami source, 2021 ↗

If ever you find yourself in Auckland in the North Island, roll through to DS Team BJJ in Newton which is 5 minutes from the central city. Recently we've had Clark Gracie fly in to do a seminar, and we've just become a Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu affiliate. Xande is actually in the country right now and just held an amazing seminar last night, he'll be at classes all week too. We're mostly a Gi oriented school, however No Gi classes are on Monday nights, and feel free to roll No Gi at Open Mats which are on Friday evenings, Saturday Noon or Sunday evenings.
