I think this is a great idea. Imagine this situation. You don't know shit about BJJ and you watch CJI for the first time on YouTube for free. Then you get a suggested video for this free content and want to check it out.Then your like "I can do this shit" and join a gym. Next you try to ankle lock on someone at the open mat at the end of class and everyone hates you, then round after round it's only north south. Tldr: it's a great ad for YouTube. source, 2025 ↗

If you can travel north a bit, come see us at Northside Jiu-Jitsu in Ellenbrook tomorrow night (Monday) from 6-7:30pm for open mat (not that far when you consider Tonkin is finished - Maybe 15 minutes from Morley tops) or go see George @ Guardians Gym in East Perth. Being a part of the Legion 13 affiliate group means you've got instructors and gyms all over Perth that'll help you out. I train at Legion 13 Perth Hills normally, but I know the owner of Northside well and have trained at Guardians (and know some of the students) enough times to recommend them. True but when I was there there was a guy who would spit everywhere. Like we're on the side of the mat waiting for our turn to do takedowns, and he pulls his rashie forward to make a gap under his chin, hocks up a big loogie, and spits it inside his rashie. And then puts his chest on people's faces! The coach seemed great and the students all seemed formidable so the training is probably really good, but I'm not going to train at a place where the coach lets people fucking spit all over everyone and everything. source, 2020 ↗
