Do you have experience living in both cities on that kind of money? Because I do. Sydney just feels lonelier. And OP also states they don’t know anyone here. I ended up making lots of friends in Sydney but I had other international colleagues who found it very very hard regardless of how much they tried. Back in like.. 2017 or 2018, i was training for worlds. Was like a month out; super fit, super strong, endless gas tank. I was training twice a day, 6 days a week. On saturdays after bjj, i would rest for 4 hours and then train freestyle wrestling. My coach was a former Czech national team coach. He had been wrestling since he could walk and competed internationally in the eastern bloc region for years. Absolute stud. One day, he brings his wife in to train. BJJ is her main sport - she took up Judo to help her be better at that. Long term - she wants to get a BJJ black belt and compete internationally. In Judo, she wants to be able to compete in the blue and brown belt divisions, but isn't interested in competing for the state or Australia. State training would interfere with her BJJ schedule, plus you have to pay an insane amount of money to be on the team. MyBJJ Westside, in Lidcombe. I know an international student who works as an ubereats bicycle rider, and he trains at MyBJJ in Camperdown. The Lidcombe location is closer to you so go there, those guys are really crazy good, they train with world champions in jiu jitsu. MyBJJ team won 2019 Sydney Open, and has always got medaling results in competitions. source, 2021 ↗
