I totally agree. This type of shin push is novel that I haven’t seen it really in any instructionals I have access to. Mateusz Szczenski has a similar detail but it seems like it’s more to control the knee direction and less to control the hip socket like Jake said. source, 2025 ↗

Not a problem man, I actually forgot to bring a pen so couldnt write anything on my arm! What weight division were you in? I didn't do the best in my weight division, got north south choked in under a minute. Then in open weight I kept escaping guillotines but then got caught in a solid anaconda. I worked a good underhook escape and defended a knee bar attempt so not a total loss! source, 2012 ↗
