What Reddit says about The Coop BJJ

2 verbatim community mentions from r/bjj and city subreddits, unedited, positives and negatives alike.

Things I've heard about each gym: Gerson's can be packed to the point of rolling being difficult. Street sports can be a tough place to train. Revolution has a mix of older hobbyists and young competitors. Lima is very much a hobbyist gym but has had issues with instructor and student retention. Ocean grown is small but legit and has a greater focus on self defense, but not in a weird culty Gracie combatives way. There's also Legacy West Adams, the coop, Los Angeles Jiu Jitsu Academy (Kron Gracie lineage), uprise MMA, Rey Diogo (old school rough training), and a lot more if expand yo source, 2024 ↗

positive

Los Angeles Jiu Jitsu Academy (jiujitsu.la) in Culver City is solid. Taught by Kron’s former head instructor Ricardo. Revolution martial arts is decent. The Coop bjj (thecoopbjj.com) is cool too, but similar open mat style with little instruction so it doesn’t sound like what you’re looking for. I think Cobrinha has an affiliate in redondo that I’ve heard good things about. Never heard of blackhouse. source, 2022 ↗
