Awesome! I think honestly Undertaker probably would’ve won it, at least if it was set up more like MMA. Kurt Angle has said Taker knows actual submission holds, he seems to have boxed as a teen and done BJJ rolls, he’s legit huge and athletic, Austin has said Taker used Japanese holds (I’m guessing maybe Judo) to stretch him for real, and Tracy Smothers and Bruce Prichard have talked about him laying out people in bar fights. Also, when he was 44 and past his physical prime, he got lit on fire and still did a full match, with people hitting him in his burnt spots. He’s my favorite wrestler, an source, 2025 ↗

Hey, there. I'm a black belt in a few styles. To be fair, any martial art will help with confidence. If we are talking purely for women's self-defense, I'd go with BJJ. My reasoning is size and circumstance. If she gets attacked it will more than likely be by a larger male with bad intentions (SA). She's unlikely to punch her way out of that. Weight classes exist for a reason. She will end up on her back with a guy trying to get in between her legs. Guess what BJJ is really good at? Defending against bigger people trying to get in between your legs while you are on your back. I knew an extreme source, 2025 ↗

Depends on your target audience. You won't get a lot of kids signed up to a gym with killer in the name. Which might be exactly what you want, even though it will be a lot harder to pay the bills. If you are only teaching BJJ, I'd stick with calling it Grappling or Jiu Jitsu over Combat. That sounds much more MMA to me. I wouldn't use your last name, unless it's Gracie. The standard is just the town or area with the art or style. It lets people know what they are getting. You can still have a cool mascot or symbol to personalize it, or a cooler name for your competition team or something source, 2025 ↗

Austin Submission Fighting. Brian teaches BJJ and his own style which he calls Modified Shooto. His modified Shooto is pretty much Catch combined with Muay Thai. Lots of insights and training you won't get from a straight BJJ school. His CATCH training Comes from Bart Vale who was trained under Karl Gotch, Minoru Suzuki, Funaki and Fujiwara....pretty much the Fathers of Japanese Shoot Wrestling which is 100% rooted in Catch source, 2025 ↗

From what I’ve seen from Aspinall, he’s very agile. Now, him beating out wrestled and submitted against Stuart Austin did worry me, but that was nearly a decade ago in his very early career. I feel he panic tapped when he didn’t need to, and wouldn’t now. I think his BJJ looked fine, his wrestling looked poor, and he got caught in a surprise submission, but I think he’s made all the right improvements in the decade since then source, 2024 ↗
