I have to agree with others here. 30 min classes while they might be convenient for commuters etc,, aren't much time for a good workout. Grappling and clinching especially require some drill work and practice. Unfortunately, 200 bucks or so a week is not bad costs wise nowadays, especially in any city area. Any decent MMA school will have a good standup style like kickboxing or Muay Thai, and some boxing and grappling/JJ/wrestling. When I did Jiujitsu over in Asia back in the ancient 1980s our classes ran 4 hours long, so coming back to the west and people were doing 1 hour, 2 hours it was lik source, 2025 ↗

I dropped in on that place once for a casual lesson while I was in the area. It didn't look promising. They had no casual rate: you couldn't train there unless you were on contract. Small space, purple belt teaching, seemed mostly focused on kids and families. I train at Gamebred at Eagle Farm which is more MMA focused but has a decent grappling program, the no-gi is quite good. I trained there while working at North Lakes, the commute wasn't too bad. There's also an Alliance place a few blocks from us at Albion who have a pretty slick black belt.
