I was with him at the Summit in Rio a couple weeks ago for GB’s 40th anniversary. We spoke briefly acknowledging each other as men do as we stood next to each other in one of the group photos. It’s crazy to think that was only two weeks ago and now he’s gone. RIP Professor. source, 2026 ↗

Trained/visited at 3 different gyms in Houston. BJJ only gyms in Houston has high level athletes all around and $150-195 is about what you would expect to pay. Pablo Silva’s gym is high quality instruction and competitors but Pablo won’t give two shits about you as an individual unless you are high level competitor—he tells this you in class as well. If your circumstances change and need to contact him for pausing/canceling membership, he is very unprofessional about it and will purposely ignore you for weeks. Beware. source, 2022 ↗

Trujillo’s Bloodline MMA is a small but very fun group. Not the highest level of BJJ but it’s significantly less expensive while still providing a good training environment. Super friendly group of people there. I had a blast training there. Idk his current prices but it was less than $100 a month when I went just a few years back source, 2022 ↗
