I’m sorry for your loss. You know Barcelona public safety is collapsing when you need tourists that fight jiu jitsu to protect people because police won’t do (not entering on the merit of being police’s fault or not). Once I was at the BCN airport during the night, there was a romanian/bulgarian drugged or with some kind of mental health person following people and shouting at them. Sneaking near people who were not paying attention to their luggage. The guards were warned and they looked so afraid of the subject. Barcelona: Dropped into Gullo BJJ, kind of a small school but really friendly people, good jiu jitsu. Also went to Renzo Gracie Spain outside of Tarragona (40min from BCN) and had a great time catching up with an old school MMA contemporary from the NYC area (Carlos). Ireland: Dropped into Point Blank BJJ in Galway, class was kinda rushed because they were doing a one-off self defense seminar right afterwards. Hello again guys. Just to round this off somewhat. I dropped into ATOS BCN last night and it was excellent. I done the beginners class at 1830 and it was very very beginner (10 white belts and me, a blue belt). Big warmup, drilled a double unders pass then some armbars from mount, then a tiny bit of positionl sparring at the end (if you pass or the bottom guy sweeps, you stay on the mat). The coach encouraged me to stay for the later class (1945-2130) which was fine by me but damn it was hard work and I was struggling to give them much by the end, but it was great fun; everyone very respe source, 2021 ↗
