Memberships! Gym, climbing, jiu-jitsu, a rec sports league. Forest city social has tons of sports, pretty cheap to play, you could play say soccer every Wednesday night all summer for like $120. Otherwise, great parks in London, check out Springbank, Fanshawe Conservation area, Westminster ponds... Always nice to go for a walk or get outside if the weather is half decent. source, 2025 ↗

positive

Fightzone London. 150classes a week. 105 a month. Best martial art gym in London! source, 2025 ↗

Off the top of my head for Europe, ECJJA in Dublin (they have quite a few high ranked women, and active competitors). London - Fightzone, Grapple Collective, London Grapple, Roger Gracie, Hiliti BJJ Berlin. I'm not sure about a 'lot' of women, but the people I'm thinking of train (or drop in frequently there.) There's obviously more, but hopefully this is a useful starting point. source, 2025 ↗

the grass is always greener on the other side... I bet many of your friends living in Dublin or London sharing a flat wish they had your life. Don't compare yourself, you've got an arrangement that most would love to have but never managed. If things are going well at work, you are learning and progressing in your career then great! I'd suggest spending a few weeks here and there working from Dublin or London if you can... just get an airbnb, work from there and socialise in the evenings... then go back home until the urge comes back again. You can actually have a much better quality of lif source, 2025 ↗

London + those coaches + these pics = $$$$$$$$$ mostly fees. Edit: Mostly curious, but from my understanding BJJ schools in Europe are less expensive (on average) than ones in the US. In regard to monthly dues. So I wonder how this sort of place will compare to say the more expensive places in Europe and the US. source, 2024 ↗
