I just came back from Ireland couple months ago, sadly I didn't get a chance to visit any clubs but I did have communication with the clubs I planned to visit. Wildgeese judo club in dublin, I was going to go there but they cancelled the Judo class the one day I was in town, I was going to go to their BJJ class later in the evening instead but I overslept due to the jetlag. Killarney Judo club. I told them I was going to go but ended up catching COVID. source, 2023 ↗

What’s up man, 30 year old guy here from Dublin, I only have a few close friends. My short answer is, you’ve got to find a hobby, BJJ, tabletennis, gaming, reading and join a book club! anything..something that’ll take you to a new place with a new environment and where you can meet people. Too many people in Ireland have no hobbies. I joined a BJJ gym last year and it was one of the best experiences, I met people and they always did stuff outside of the gym. There is no shame whatsoever about doing things on your own, I’ve got a missus for 3 years but I still enjoy doing things on my own some source, 2023 ↗

East coast jiujitsu is by far the highest level gym in Ireland. Especially the comp classes Tues and Thurs at 12 are absolutely stacked with killers. There's also a bunch of gyms affiliated to EC all over Ireland if you're not based in Dublin. Other high levels gyms are Jungle BJJ, Royal Grappling Academy, SBG Tullamore and if you're up north New Ground source, 2023 ↗

Here in Ireland the prices depend on your area. Where I train it's 70-80 a month whichs pricey considering the cost of living over the past few years and all the added expenses of GIs, car fuel / wear and tear etc. But it's worse in places like Cork and Dublin, both of which are over €100 per month (and that's just BJJ, it's like 129-150/ month for BJJ + striking or MMA). Add your GI(s), rash guards, fuel to get to training etc...it quickly adds up and I can see why so many peop leave the sport due to cost not being worth the investment anymore. source, 2022 ↗

My memory Is a little hazy on the date but it was pre lockdown so 2019 is a safe guess. Johnny walker wasn't there. There was a jiu jitsu lesson going on and people spotted his car outside and everybody was whispering about it and then he came in with a couple people around him it was really cool. He came in through the front door and I was like a metre away but too nervous to ask him for a photo or anything but he did give me a head nod which is good enough and he just left and dissapeared into the back of the gym. This SBG was in Dublin, ireland I forgot which one exactly but I remember t source, 2021 ↗

Whereabouts in Dublin do you live? There's loads of gyms, we'll all be able to advise you better if we know what area you're looking at. Plenty of city centre options and suburb options too. I'm assuming also that you mean Dublin, Ireland and not one of the other Dublins. source, 2021 ↗

Bay jiu jitsu is great, our Professor Miniero teaches there and he is also at Round 5 Fitness in San Leandro which is a CheckMat gym that offers Muy Thai too. Romelo Melo or Ralph Gracie Dublin are good choices as well. I would check it out and see what works for you. I think most have a free session to try. source, 2019 ↗

Dublin has a ton of good BJJ clubs, just find a place that's convenient and try a class as most will offer a free one. Some places are pure jiu jitsu clubs, some also have MMA, some also offer regular gym facilities. Depending where you are try any of these or other places that suit or google as you'll likely find others too its not anywhere close to a full list: Blanchardstown - Royal Grappling Blanchardstown - Satori Charlestown - SBG Charlestown Drumcondra - Balance Dublin 1 - Andre Ramos Dublin 1 - Jorge Santo Dundrum - Gracie Barra Finglas - Ryano Fin source, 2018 ↗
