If I won big, the rest of my life would be a holiday. I’d always have a project planned. I’d still work a 40 hour week but only doing stuff I enjoy. I’m maybe take a cruise to weig uo my options, then off to Byblos in Lebanon for 6 months to learn Arabic, then onto Nevada to learn to fly, back to London for a few months and take some BJJ lessons with Carson Gracie, train intensively for a few months until I decide to move on. I just joined Gracie Barra in Paris and we do all of the things you said here. 1. We have one theme per week (this week is turtle and back attacks + Throws) and have a 15 minutes roll in the themed position of the week at every class 2. We have 4 types of classes : - GB1 : Class dedicated to low level belts where we train more basic moves, and built a tool set for bjj. Everybody has access to that class. - GB2 : Class dedicated to 3 stripes white belts and more where we learn more complex positions. I realize there is not so many French here. I’m not from Paris but I heard great things from Gracie Barra Vaugirard. Also best schools in France are One Jiu Jitsu Lyon , and De Lariva Nantes. Teachers here are incredible. Just gonna speak about the ones I know / heard about. I train at Cercle Tissier in Vincennes, so I'm a bit biased. great atmosphere and instructors, good options to pay for a single month or two in your case as well. Not in the center of Paris but can get there super quickly with RER A transport and the facility is bigger / has tons of classes to chose from both in GI (mainly) and no GI (few) Was the first bjj gym opened in Europe :). I think I would embark on a series of short term goals: go to Lebanon for six months learn Arabic, then Paris and learn French. Spend a few months in the states Learning to fly a helicopter, spend six months training in London with Roger Gracie learning jiu Jitsu intensely; then six months learning the piano probably somewhere hot and beautiful cos why not? For sleep: - The bookshop Shakespeare & Company, just south of Notre Dame, sometimes let people sleep there for free if you are prepared to help out in the shop.for a couple of hours a day. Same. I don't really get all starstruck or even really "follow" any celebrities but Bourdain is one that I will truly miss. It hit close to home for me being a Jiu Jitsu teammate by proxy, a fellow lover of food and culture and his love of life in a sort of cynical way. Also being in Paris on the date of his death was kind of surreal because literally the day before I thought to myself "Who is one celebrity I'd want to meet up with in Paris? Bourdain."
