I have a friend who done BBJ at a very high level for years and some guy from Sweden snapped his leg during a demonstration about 14 years ago in Munich. He was so bad (can remember exactly what happened his leg) that he's still not fit to do bjj anymore. He can only run on sand and also the guy done it because he was a fucking pyscho who was known for it. Sad though because even a year after the incident the guy was still rolling. TB12 is not athletic. He wasn’t when he was drafted in the 7th, he definitely is not in his mid 40s. Seriously, look up his combine stats. Watch him running a route in the Munich game and see for yourself. He’s successful because he has a VERY high football IQ. And as a QB, that doesn’t have much crossover to BJJ. source, 2022 ↗

I've been to two camps so far (Germany and Iceland, third in Estonia coming up) and I learned Jiu Jitsu I've otherwise wouldn't have learned, met people I now consider some of my closest friends and I started traveling way more because of the camps, with gi and nogi gear in my backpack. So the effects have been positive, and the camp experience itself was amazing as well! Looks like the choke came on quick, not sure BJJ guy had a ton of time to escape. There used be an old study of Sebastian Brosche on Youtube by Lex Fridman which was great, where it showed Brosche routinely using this choke in BJJ competition mostly to force closed guard player to open up his game. Unfortunately study is no longer available on YouTube. Then again, it works great for him, until it doesn't... this year, Brosche fought Jaime Canuto in Munich, and lost fight in roughly a minute via this tactic. I just got back from a European holiday in Germany. I stopped by the Hutton BJJ Academy in Munich and rolled with the blokes down there. It's amazing how rolling with the Germans was no different to rolling with the Australians. source, 2014 ↗
