10th planet San Diego is close to Serra Mesa and has excellent Nogi Jiu Jitsu, judo/wrestling and has a cool, friendly and supporting atmosphere. I’ve trained in Florida and California gyms for over 15 years and SD 10th planet is as good as it gets. source, 2025 ↗

Where in SoCal? Legion JJ in San Diego has JFlo as a coach, who is an excellent standup and submission grappler. Generally, no gi bjj has enjoyed an influx of wrestling over the past couple years. I'd try out different no gi and/or MMA gyms to find a place with good wrestling. For context, im 26M and compete in no gi. my gym is run by a former pro MMA fighter who started wrestling at 7. We have multiple "pure" wrestling classes/week, and my coach generally teaches a wrestling heavy style. Not every no gi gym is like this, but they're (thankfully) becoming more common. source, 2025 ↗

Atos and AOJ are in California. You will train will world champs. AOJ (or Art of Jiu Jitsu) has an excellent kids/teens program and young adults there are products of great training and instruction Atos Jiu Jitsu in San Diego is the Home of Andre and Angelica Galvao. Their daughter Sarah is doing amazing at purple belt adult. Lots of killers men and women in that room. source, 2023 ↗
