It really depends on where you are in the city and what your interests are. This is the recommendations that I usually make, though : Perth Martial Arts Centre (Malaga) - I train here, but it’s a nice gym run by Will Dias who is arguably one of the best competitors in Oz Essence - Jake is a very nice guy and a great teacher. Great overall vibe to the gym albeit the matspace is a bit small for my liking. Coringa - Fabio is a very nice guy with blackbelts in BJJ, Judo and Luta Livre GFTeam - can’t say specifically about their training but Leo is legit af and they have great competitors source, 2025 ↗

Hi, Brown belt for Málaga here , that camp isn't worth it,the fact that the teacher is a blue belt is all you need to know , there are some good places in the malaga coastline where you can train and have fun , specially in Lilius barnat bjj (Santeri Lilius is a two times adcc European trials champion)if you are into nogi he organise leg lock camps with some of the best leg lockers in Europe every 3 or 4.month source, 2024 ↗

Lots of good gyms around Perth these days, best to find one close to where you’ll be living. He is now dabbling into BJJ because he had both knees busted and was unable to compete anymore, and won a European BJJ championship in the purple belt category spamming sumi gaeshis into side control then transitioning to armbar, the guy is unrelentless and dominates all parts of the fight, and has the cardio to back it up. About training, he is now teaching judo for kids in Marbella, he moved some years ago to Malaga as there is a big Ukranian community there. source, 2023 ↗

Hola, ya hay varios, sólo en Málaga creo que hay más de 10. El Jiu Jitsu lleva en España más de 20 años, al ser un idioma parecido y un clima bueno muchos brasileños vienen a vivir aquí. Saludos! source, 2016 ↗

>I feel like the BJJ community as a whole has a big chip on their shoulder about price.. that BJJ schools shouldn't charge "too much." Well, I think martial arts in general has an issue with high prices. A lot of people are used to "pay a fiver and train", or even training for free (though that's less common these days, but you see it in BJJ with all the higher belts who teach for free out of loyalty to the school). Lots of judo is taught at the local YMCA for a low price. There is also the blurred line a martial arts instructor has to deal with, between 'teacher', 'friend' and 'service pr source, 2014 ↗
