It's a good shout - I've actually started taking my son to Carpe Diem, the only thing that stopped me from looking more closely was that they seemed a little light on the NG classes. If I was closer, Singapore SG would be ideal as I'd be happy to trade the MT for a wider range of grappling options that they have. There are a few gyms specific to bjj, though most aren’t bjj focus and have other types of martial thought in them also. there’s field assembly , carpe diem, garcie barra (these are some bjj only centres) Most others are mixed , as in they teach boxing and Muay Thai as well. tricolor mma, onyx mma,evolve mma ( to name a few) It is not cost effective to be bjj focused only in Singapore as the market is small, it may be growing but it is not as popular as Muay Thai. No one could tell you that really. Judo's numbers can't even be verified and it's more popular and professionally run than both. BJJ just doesn't have that large of an international presence. Not sure where you got the idea that it's huge. Most competitions are Brazil vs USA and it is primarily a for profit sport. You aren't going to find much BJJ in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, Africa or Central Asia for example. The Sambo World Championships is attended by around 50 countries and it's a sport recognized by the IOC. It draws from Judo's talent pool and in former Soviet Bloc most guys do bo source, 2022 ↗

Hello there! As an expat who has been here for years I can say that you'll love it in Singapore. If you want a central point to bounce from that is expat dense then check out the Holland Village and Holland Hill area. The night life is busy with a section of road deep in the village that closes to traffic in the evenings to host all the people. Plenty of buses to pick from and there's a mrt on the circle line.
