What Reddit says about Bucklands Beach BJJ & MMA

5 verbatim community mentions from r/bjj and city subreddits, unedited, positives and negatives alike.

South Auckland : nothing super interesting apart from drive through to get to the rest of the north island, or some nice bush walks in Hunua. East Auckland: nice beaches on the coast, couple nice bars in Howick township. West Auckland: gateway to west coast beaches, amazing day trips. little creatures brewery in hobsonville is great. Titirangi is a cool cafe trip. Other than that, it's a bit suburban. Central suburbs: coast to coast walk is a good day walk to hit the main maunga walks (one tree hill, mt Eden). Parnell and mt Eden villages are great dining /bars. Newmarket mall is nice as fa source, 2023 ↗

I went to Auckland MMA for about 6 months and I found the dude that runs it was only interested in getting me to pay to sign up. Was super friendly and welcoming, as soon as I’d swiped my card and made payment switched his demeanour and became quite rude and snobby. Also, the dude who runs Bucklands Beach BJJ, I bought something off him on Trademe and he never made contact with me hahaha! source, 2022 ↗

I grew up there, beautiful town with friendly people but it is your typical everyone knows someone type of place and a very outdoorsy community pretty much nothing can kill you in NZ. Alot of hunting and fishing goes on in the area and almost everyone has a ute and boat. The beaches there are amazing and it's the most sunniest place in the country. Also can't beat the berry farm visits during the summer. There should be a rugby league club or two one of them is the Whakatane Razorbacks also plenty of Touch Rugby teams there and other sports to fill in time though not sure about Jiu-jitsu. source, 2019 ↗
