OK listen children: I started BJJ in Munich when i graduated high school after downloading Pride FC fights and Felony Fights on Limewire. I moved to Vienna, Austria after and continued training there. I held every belt pretty much 3 years. Austrian BJJ and grappling was in the dark ages back then and is still around 10 years behind which was tough at times but despite this we managed to build a strong team. There are a few good places in Vienna. E.g T ZR Gym or Alpha jiu Jitsu are well known gyms in vienna. I think there is also a gracie barria in vienna. Outside off vienna you can find the austrian mma academy where they have one of the top coaches in Austria Prof. Fernando Paulon. He earned his black belt under Maurilo Bustamante in Brazil and teaches for many years. This is where I train. Hope this Helps. Oss! I train at Yamasaki in Springfield, VA. Our head BJJ instructor (Neto) is both a BJJ and judo bb and incorporates a lot of old school judo throws into our BJJ classes. We are also home to the top judo club in NoVA in SportJudo, led by 8th degree judo bb and former Olympic Freestyle wrestler Maurice Allan, so there's plenty of opportunity to cross-train.
