This might not be popular on this forum but former NYC Jew to current NYC Jew: get a gun, learn how to use it, carry it concealed. New York changed CCW laws recently and as a trans person, you have a very good argument to need one for safety. Next/at the same time, enroll in jiu jitsu. In the long run, probably move. It’s hard to say where, but your safety is paramount. You can mitigate risk by having a CCW and knowing jiu jitsu, but your environment isn’t going to change. source, 2024 ↗

I would go to New York and alternate between Renzo Gracie Academy for John Danaher and Marcelo Garcia's Academy for Marcelo Garcia. I'd do that for a month. Then I'd go to California for a week to smoke that good ganja shit and spend all day on the beach. In other words, I'd go to 10th Planet. source, 2015 ↗
