What Reddit says about Free Fight Academy

8 verbatim community mentions from r/bjj and city subreddits, unedited, positives and negatives alike.

take your time and read what it said again, carefully and slowly, because it directly references what you said here and there's a lot more to it than that. in my personal experience the trans community has already organized at the very least in Paris, where you can get free injection supplies and hormones from other trans people, there are many weekly and biweekly community events with many different types of activities like board games, DIY laser and DIY HRT masterclasses, fitness activities, martial arts classes (Muai Thai, English Boxing, BJJ), swordfighting. it is fun. it builds connection source, 2025 ↗

I'm French living in North America, with my salary here I'm a doing good. Same salary in Europe I'd be a fucking king. Yes France has more taxes, you also have to look at the whole picture (free healthcare, free education, lower cost living overall..) my BJJ membership cost me 180$/month here my friend in Paris pay 250 euros/years. It's those kind of details that goes a long way. But I'm living in NA so there are reason too, my career skyrocketed much faster than in Europe, my wages is way higher than if I was in Europe. But objectively, life is better in Europe (much more balanced) and if source, 2024 ↗

Paris 46€/month - 3-4 session available per day, open mats on holidays. Close to the highest competitive level you can get in France. I think there is something specific with Cali & BJJ. Biiiiig social Trend+ Big bjj names+wealthy people with a lot of free time = stupid prices source, 2024 ↗

Ooh MMA Fan chiming in here! The answer is: some of them, and mainly the ones you hear about the most! Charles Oliveira grew up with nothing in a Brazilian favela, and now uses his money and fame to buy food for families and teaches free jiu-jitsu classes for kids who are impoverished like he was. Dustin Poirier has a charity called The Good Fight Foundation which helps impoverished people, and regularly auctions off his fight gear to raise money for the cause Stipe Miocic is a gentle giant who, despite being arguably the greatest heavyweight champion of all time, probably spends more time source, 2023 ↗

For grappling (and BJJ) you can check MKTEAM, NRFIGHT, INFINITY... There are plenty of clubs in Paris now depending on the vibe you're looking for (hardcore competition, hobby, pure grappling, judo + bjj, etc.) and for most you can do a trial class for free. source, 2023 ↗

Hey thanks for your answer! I think the top place I’d want to visit right now is Tokyo or Paris. I like the architecture a lot. In terms of jobs, I’m not really sure; I just don’t want to spend my working hours sitting in a cubicle staring at a computer. And right now I’ve been learning jiu jitsu in my free time, I find it super fun and it’s making me a calmer person with less of an ego source, 2023 ↗

For sleep: - The bookshop Shakespeare & Company, just south of Notre Dame, sometimes let people sleep there for free if you are prepared to help out in the shop.for a couple of hours a day. They call these helpers "Tumbleweeds", tell them you want to be one, be friendly & enthusiastic about books. - Also try the Couchsurfing website to find a bed, you might meet some people that could help.you get a website started. For jobs? - In terms of training, the people at the Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu gym are very nice. - Make a profile on www.superprof.com. Personal trainer in English i source, 2021 ↗

Hi. I’m an American, who is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Moving to Paris on Saturday. I’ll start training on Monday. Give me a shout if you want to join me for a class one day. I’ll be your partner. I’ll be at a BJJ/Judo school in Le Marias. Anyone else who wants to try BJJ, feel free to DM me. Anyone here knows of good cross-school open mats? source, 2021 ↗
