I went to Dubai for almost a week because we were in Abu Dhabi for a major BJJ tournament. One of my friends is a very well known (famous?) BJJ athlete, and we got invited to some crazy, young rich dudes house because he was a fan. Guy was a prince, or sheikh, or oils trust fund baby, we never got a straight answer, but as we were partying he started talking about the crazy things that Instagram models were flown out for (sex, was a given), but he was telling stories like them doing things with animals, licking toilets, like insane stories. The guy that came to coach me in Dubai is also doing privates with a sheikh.. Dubai is super strict on drugs, but other stuff they're pretty lax on. The UAE has support for BJJ from several sheikhs. I might be wrong, but some rich sheikh out in dubai was trying to get jiu-jitsu practised daily in schools as physical education. I read that years ago when bjj was getting huge over there, don't know did ever come to fruition. source, 2016 ↗
