We are a one income family but in Sydney with a similar take home as yours. First of all, we don’t have health insurance or medications so there’s almost $1000. Another $3000 for daycare is another expense we don’t have. Our car is paid off, we spend around $300 on fuel and tolls per month. Rent $770 a week. Our internet is $80, phones $40 each and utilities average $90 a month. Gym is $110 a fortnight each for us both but I’m off atm because I just had a baby. Food around $400 a week. Twice at comps I have cornered complete strangers who were there either alone or just with their partner. I will often post on my social media. If you see me at a comp and need a corner. Just ask. I am easily recognised at all the local Sydney comps. I wish everyone had supporters at their comps but sometimes they just don’t. So I am happy to be everyone’s supporter. Izzy saw Volk at an expo in Sydney and they both did some training with Volk's jiu jitsu trainer. I think Izzy and Volk also did some sparring and striking training. Volk had a vlog about it on his youtube and I think izzy posted it too. All the stuff we saw on the internet about Fury saying "i'm no cage fighter!" and pictures of him standing next to Alex were from Australia, all of them were there for that expo. source, 2023 ↗

It would have been 2010, I was once a purple belt with a dream. We managed to have Gui Mendes come to our humble little gym in Sydney Australia for a seminar. After the seminar when I had a chance to talk to him, I asked him what tips he has for up and coming competitors with big dreams. He gave me the usual spiel about training hard, 3 times a day, 6 days a week. That's what he and Rafa do and his competition team. I wasn't aware that everyone was juicing back then. I don’t believe that class structure is unique to John. Lachlan ran a very similar format when I was training in Melbourne and it works great there, even for the hobbiests. In Sydney I use a similar format in my classes at Grappling Education and SJJA and you see the same at Sydney West Martial Arts where I train. Farewell Anthony Lange. So tonight Anthony Lange (he’s the small guy, I’m the tall one) one of Australia’s pioneers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and MMA conducted his last grading at his academy headquarters in Manly on Sydney’s northern beaches Australia. Anthony is a 4th degree Bjj black belt under John Will via the Machado brothers lineage. John is one of Bjj’s ‘Dirty Dozen’ or the first 12 non Brazilians to achieve Faixa Preta (black belt). Anthony is multiple masters world Bjj champion and cornered the first Australian to ever fight in the UFC, Elvis Sinosic, when Elvis fought and bested source, 2022 ↗
